Upon arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be met and transferred to your riad, a traditional Moroccan accommodation. In the afternoon, you will have time to explore the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a place full of life with its snake charmers, food stalls and street performers. We will spend the night in Marrakech, immersing ourselves in the magical atmosphere of this imperial city.
Today we will discover the treasures of Marrakech, founded in the 11th century by the Almoravids. We will visit the imposing minaret of Koutoubia, symbol of the city and jewel of Almohad architecture. We will also explore the Saadi Tombs, the luxurious Bahia Palace and the bustling souk of the Medina. The Jemaa el-Fnaa square will again be our meeting point at nightfall, where you can enjoy its unique atmosphere. Overnight in riad.
Early departure to the High Atlas, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, where we will stop to admire the views and the Berber villages. Our first major stop will be at Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive ksar declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After lunch in Ouarzazate, known as “the gateway to the desert”, we will continue through the Valley of Roses, famous for its cultivation of damask roses, until we reach the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night in a local hotel.
After breakfast, we will enter the Todra Gorges, a climber’s paradise with its rock walls up to 300 meters. After a walk through this impressive canyon, we will continue to Merzouga, where the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi await us.
In the afternoon, we will ride a camel into the desert to reach our Berber camp. We will enjoy an unforgettable sunset, a traditional dinner under the stars and music around the campfire.
Today we will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, a unique spectacle. We will return to the village by camel and, after breakfast, explore the surroundings: visit a hidden oasis, meet nomadic families and relax in Khamlia, a village known for its gnawa music.
In the afternoon, you will have free time to stroll around Merzouga or climb back to the dunes for another magical sunset. Overnight in a nearby hotel.
We leave the desert and head north, passing through the palm grove of Tafilalet and the Ziz Valley, where we will make a panoramic stop. We will have lunch in Midelt, in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, and continue through cedar forests, where we can see wild monkeys.
Our last stop will be in Ifrane, an alpine town known as “the Moroccan Switzerland”, before arriving in Fez in the evening.
Today we will discover Fez, the oldest imperial city in Morocco. We will tour its ramparts, the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and the Medina, declared a World Heritage Site. We will explore its lively alleys, visiting tanneries, historic mosques and craft workshops. Night in a traditional riad.
Depart for Meknes, another imperial city, where we will see the majestic Bab Mansour gate and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Afterwards, we will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a fascinating archaeological site.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Chefchaouen, the charming “blue city” of the Rif, where we will spend the night.
We will spend the morning strolling through the blue streets of Chefchaouen before departing for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. After a short stop, we will continue to Casablanca, where we will spend the night.
We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest temples in the world, before continuing along the coast to Essaouira, a coastal city with a special charm. We will stroll through its walled Medina and enjoy its relaxed atmosphere.
Free day to explore this “Pearl of the Atlantic”: its beaches, fish markets and thuya wood workshops. You can also try activities such as surfing or camel rides on the beach.
After breakfast, we will take you to Marrakech airport for your return flight, ending this amazing trip in Morocco.
