Your adventure begins on Day 1 by meeting at the port of Tangier. From there, you’ll embark on a scenic drive through the imposing Rif Mountains, passing Tetouan along the way. After enjoying magnificent panoramic views, you’ll arrive in Chefchaouen, a charming village nestled at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Next, we will explore its Medina, whose heart is a picturesque Spanish-style square surrounded by vibrant craft stores, restaurants, and cafes. Here, you’ll have time for lunch and to soak up the local atmosphere before continuing our journey to the historic city of Fez, where we will spend the night.
On Day 2, prepare to explore Fez, Morocco’s oldest and most culturally rich city, with an expert local guide. You will stroll through its intricate alleys, visiting landmarks such as the Royal Palace gate, the ancient Jewish quarter (Mellah), and the prestigious Al Karaouine University (the region’s oldest). Furthermore, your exploration includes the fascinating Tanneries, the exquisite Attarine Museum, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, an important pilgrimage site. That evening, you will spend the night in the medina, immersed in the authentic atmosphere of Fez.
Today’s journey takes you through varied and spectacular landscapes. First, you will pass through Ifrane, a charming ski resort reminiscent of a Swiss village. Next, you’ll drive through the imposing Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying cedar forests, rugged rock faces, and Berber villages. Following this, you will stop for lunch in Midelt, famous for fossils and apples. In the afternoon, the route continues towards Merzouga via the Ziz Valley and Erfoud (the capital of dates). Eventually, you’ll arrive in Merzouga in the evening, staying at a local hotel near the breathtaking Erg Chebbi dunes.
Following sunrise in the desert on Day 4, we return to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Then, we visit the bustling market of Rissani before heading towards the Todra Gorges. Here, we will walk along the canyon streams before continuing to the Dades Gorges to spend the night in a local Riad.
Day 5 begins after breakfast, traveling from the Dades Valley along the legendary Route of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Ouarzazate – a photographer’s dream! Along the way, we will explore the scented Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm grove. Upon reaching Ouarzazate, nicknamed the ‘Hollywood of Africa’, we head to the magnificent Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou for lunch. Afterwards, take your time to discover this incredible UNESCO site, the largest in Morocco. Subsequently, the adventure continues up into the High Atlas via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m), offering unforgettable panoramic views. Finally, we descend towards vibrant Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
Today, Day 6, we explore vibrant Marrakech, the ‘Red City of Morocco’. Our expert local guide will accompany you to discover key historical and cultural sites, including the iconic Koutoubia Minaret, the historic Saadian Tombs, the beautiful Bahia Palace, and the ancient Madrasa Ben Youssef. Following this, we’ll stroll through the bustling Medina streets, observing artisans at work, before arriving at the world-famous Djemaa el-Fna Square. Lunch will be enjoyed at a nearby restaurant.
Later, in the afternoon, we visit the exotic Majorelle Gardens and explore Gueliz, Marrakech’s modern district. As night falls, you’ll have free time to experience the unique spectacle of Djemaa el-Fna, alive with snake charmers, storytellers, musicians, and food stalls. This immersion concludes our 6-day trip.
