Our adventure begins at 8:3 AM with departure from Fez to Meknes, a historic city surrounded by impressive ramparts. On the way, we will explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Upon arrival in Meknes, we will admire the monumental Bab Mansour gate and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we will spend the night in our accommodation.
After breakfast, we will begin our visit to Rabat, exploring emblematic sites such as the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Then, we will head to Casablanca to visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most opulent mosques in the world. We will continue our journey to Marrakech, where we will check into our accommodation and spend the night.
Today we will explore the vibrant city of Marrakech with the help of a local guide. We will immerse ourselves in the magical atmosphere of Djemaa El-Fna Square, famous for its food stalls, artists and storytellers. We will visit the impressive Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, the opulent Bahia Palace, the historic Ben Youssef Madrasa and the fascinating Saadian Tombs. After a day full of discoveries, we will return to our accommodation in Marrakech to rest.
We will leave Marrakech around 8:30 AM and head towards Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Sahara”. We will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. On the way, we will visit the Kasbah of Telouet, an ancient abandoned palace. Then, we will have lunch at the foot of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will explore the Kasbah before continuing to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in our accommodation.
We will continue our adventure exploring the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate. Then, we will head towards the impressive Todra Gorges, making a stop on the way in the town of M’Gouna, known for its rose-based cosmetic products. We will enjoy lunch en route and stop to visit the local caves. Finally, we will arrive at the Dades Gorges, where we will spend the night.
Today we will head towards the spectacular Todra Gorges, enjoying the panoramic views along the way. Continue to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, passing through the town of Tinjdad. Before reaching Merzouga, we will stop for lunch. Then we will head to the oasis of Rissani, near Erfoud. Upon arrival at the desert camp, we will be greeted with a traditional mint tea. Then, we will ride a camel to enjoy a magical sunset on the dunes. Return to the camp to spend the night in the desert.
After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we will start our journey to Midelt. We will pass through Erfoud, where we can see fossils that are used to create different objects. Then, we will cross Errachidia and the impressive Ziz Valley, known for its extensive palm groves. Continue to Midelt, the “apple capital”, located at the foot of Mount Ayachi, where we will spend the night.
On our way today, we will cross the spectacular camel pass, Tizi n Talghmt, and our next stop will be Azro, which means “stone”. There, we will stop to observe the monkeys that inhabit the cedar forests. We will enjoy lunch here before continuing on to Fez. In the afternoon, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Fez or at the airport, marking the end of our 8-day trip from Fez to the imperial cities and the Sahara of Merzouga.
